Advanced Techniques in Minimally Invasive Colectomy

Workshop Description

This is a one day workshop designed for advanced laparoscopic General and Colorectal surgeons who wish to explore Single Incision Surgery and Hand Access Laparoscopic Surgery (HALS). The workshop covers Single Incision Right Hemi-Colectomy and HALS for splenic flexure mobilisation and Total Colectomy. The program includes hands-on cadaveric training, didactic and video sessions.

TAMIS

Workshop Description

Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS) gives the colorectal surgeon the ability to expand their skills to include the use of local excision from the distal rectum to the mid and proximal rectum. TAMIS enables the resection of lesions in the rectum using advanced access devices and standard laparoscopic instrumentation. The workshop will include hands-on training using bovine tissue, didactic sessions with video and live surgery. The program is limited to 12 participants to maximize the hands-on experience.
