Accordingly, Applied sponsors educational activities at various congresses (American College of Surgeons, Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc., American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and Surgical Infection Society). Most notably, Applied hosts the Reducing SSI Symposium Series for leading healthcare professionals to present evidence-based practices that have successfully achieved improvement in patient outcomes.

The SSI team at Applied Medical focuses on national healthcare legislation and current clinical studies that evaluate intervention practices with SSI as a primary outcome. This research, along with information on organizational initiatives and patient resources, is summarized regularly on, a comprehensive resource for healthcare professionals interested in learning more about SSI prevention.
